The Case of the Satirical Website for the University of Haute Alsace Elections
Paul Feutz defends the UHA employee who authored a satirical website denouncing the authoritarian drift of governance and the workplace suffering experienced by many university staff members
The defendant, a former employee of the digital department at the University of Haute Alsace (UHA), was prosecuted before the Mulhouse Criminal Court for creating a satirical UHA website during the 2024 university election period. He was charged with offenses of infringement and identity theft, in addition to the omission of certain identification details on the website in question.
Oreste developed an offensive defense, utilizing every possibility provided by the law:
– motions to annul;
– summoning of several witnesses;
– submissions for acquittal
Mr. Paul Feutz also spoke to the media on several occasions to ensure the defense’s arguments were heard.
